Application of copper cable

Copper XLPE Armoured Underground Cable can be laid indoors, in tunnels, cable trenches and pipes. It can also be buried in loose soil. Cables cannot withstand mechanical external forces. Single core cable is not allowed to be laid in magnetic pipes

Directly buried in the ground (buried depth: ≥0.7 m from the ground), the cable can withstand certain mechanical external forces, but can not withstand large tensile forces.

Structure

XLPE copper underground cable consists of core, insulation layer and protection layer. Wire cores are used for conducting current and are generally formed by twisting a plurality of copper wires or a plurality of aluminum wires. Low voltage cables are single – core, double – core, three-core and four – core. Double – core cables are used for single-phase lines, three-core and four-core cables are used for three-phase three-wire lines and three-phase four-wire lines respectively, and single-core cables can be used for single-phase lines or three-phase lines as required. Common low-voltage cable cores have cross-sectional areas of 10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, 240 mm, etc.

Conductors

The conductors shall be either of Class 1 or Class 2 of plain or metal-coated annealed copper or of plain aluminium or aluminium alloy, or of Class 5 of plain or metal-coated copper in accordance with IEC 60228.

Insulation

XLPE Insulation material and thickness shall be as per IEC 60502-1, XLPE material shall be Type A as per IEC 60502-1.

Inner Covering

Armour

Aluminum/galvanized steel/steel wires applied helically over the Inner Covering as per IEC 60502-1, or double aluminum/steel tapes and copper/tinned copper wire can also be manufactured upon request.
