GE is awarded the-construction of a new electric transmission line in canelon

Galaxy Electric was selected by a company responsible for the transmission of high voltage power in the Eastern Republic of Uruguay for the construction of a 400/220 kV transmission line.

Electric generation, transmission and distribution require reliable and efficient systems to ensure continuity of supply in diverse geographical environments and with external agents which can affect the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to have high performance and quality cables, which allow a smooth operation. The project, whose length will be 12 kilometers, is worthy of 1.1 million US dollars.

GE Cable will be responsible for constructing, supplying and commissioning the electric transmission line that will run from the junction point in Al Fayah to the Shamkha substation, located in Canelones, Uruguay. The construction of the project will last 16 months. With this new award, GE Cable reinforces its presence and activity in South America and consolidates its leadership position in the engineering and construction of electric transmission lines with more than 13,000 km and almost 150 substations made throughout the world.
