MV POWER CABLE CONSTRUCTION

 

1. Conductor: Copper or aluminium (class1 or class 2)

2. Inner semi-conducting layer

3. Insulation: Cross inked polyethylene (XLPE)

4. Outer semi-conducting layer

5. Armoured or Unarmoured

6. Wrapping of conductive material

7. Screen: Braiding of copper wires or copper tape

8. Separator

9. Outer jacket: PVC compound

 

MV POWER CABLE APPLICATION

 

MV power cable is used for power distribution networks; also for connection to generation units and plant and process connection. The mv cable could be laid directly in ground, outdoors, indoors and in cable ducts.

 

 

MV POWER CABLE CHARACTERISTICS

 

The ambient temperature under installation should not be lower than: 0 °C

 

When the armored single core cable used for Alternative Current(AC) system, the armour material should be non-magnetic.
